One of the most useful pieces of advice to undergraduates interested in exploring teaching is: Keep your options open, by choosing courses that satisfy the requirements for both your undergraduate degree and a credential program.

Need to talk more in depth about a career in teaching?

Most UC Davis General Education courses qualify as credential prerequisites. Most credential programs require relevant preparation for postgraduate work in teaching. We encourage you to choose a major that prepares you to teach and provides you with the opportunity to continue your studies of math or science in postgraduate work.
